How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
My product engages with audiences by having ideas and articles that would interest them and that they can relate to. For example, my product would have articles on new equipment to buy for activities, such as hiking or camping, and will also discuss new places to go and what new activities people can do there. This helps engage with audiences because it is something that will draw their attention to my product and something that will make them want to read it. It will also help them with some of their travel issues and provide an array of new ideas. My product will be distributed as a real media text via magazine as well as a website. There are some people who do not pay attention to magazines in stores when they are shopping, which is why my product would also be a website where some articles can be read and the full magazine can be purchased. My product is a magazine, so it will also be distributed as a regular magazine that is sold in stores. It will mainly be sold as a regular magazine, and the website will only have a few articles for people to preview and then they will be able to purchase the full magazine through the website.

There is a voiceover during the flashback. It is almost as though there is narration. This is a non-diegetic sound because no one else in the scene can hear it, it is only for the audience. Suspenseful music begins to play, which adds to the feeling and mood that the audience feels while watching it. This is also a non-diegetic sound, because only the audience can hear it. After the suspenseful music begins, the man is in his backyard and there are birds chirping and a calm essence. It is an environmental sound because it is caused by the animals and environment surrounding the man. It is also a diegetic sound because it comes from the environment in the film, and the people in the film can hear them as well. There are duck sound effects to show that they are nearby. This is also diegetic sound, as well as environmental. Music only plays when people are not speaking, which makes it easier to understand and removes any chance of awkward silence. This a soundtrack music, as well as a non-diegetic sound.
How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?
My magazine cover uses media conventions by having a picture and text that goes along with it. For example, the picture is of a sunset in the mountains in Colorado, and the title of the magazine is "Welcome to Colorful Colorado!" These two go together and help show the main idea of the magazine. There are also smaller texts around the cover that give the reader an idea about what information is in the magazine and why they should read it. The colors of the text match the colors of the photo, but can still be clearly seen. They go together well, and create a beautiful and colorful cover. The title is large and in the center because that is what people will see first, and if they are interested in it, then they will look at the smaller texts that describe what is in it. My product represents people who are passionate about traveling and want to do more of it. It provides information on new places to go and new equipment for activities, such as hiking, that will be beneficial. It is appealing to this social group because it is a way for people to learn more about beautiful locations to travel to that they may not have known existed. The whole idea of the magazine is to inform people on traveling, new locations to go to, new equipment to purchase, and other activities that can be done in these locations. This is very appealing for people who are passionate about it.
Audience behavior has a huge impact on the media industry and the changes made in it. There are many different types of media; however, music is arguably the type of media that changes the most due to the audience. Music preferences are constantly changing, and so is the music produced by musicians. The audience has the power to influence the type of music a musician creates, cause musicians to lose popularity, and change the way different ways music is listened to.
The music styles that are popular are continuously changing, which is why it is so important for musicians to understand and know what the audience wants. For example, rap music has become more and more popular in recent years, which has been an issue for bands such as Coldplay. There has also been an increase in electronic music. Artists, such as Khalid and Sam Smith, have recently created songs that are very different from what they released years ago and are now creating music that is more like electronic dance music. If musicians didn’t change their music style along with the change in preference in the audience, it is likely that their music will not be as popular or have as many listeners. Artists change their music style once they realize their audience likes different music, so they can target the audience and get more listeners. Musicians may lose their popularity if they do not make the changes that need to be made to please their audience. There have been many people who are “one-hit wonders,” such as Carly Rae Jepsen, because they never changed their music once their popular song lost its popularity. Artists need an audience in order to earn money and have a job; therefore, they will do nearly whatever it takes in order to maintain their high status and popularity. Because the audience is the only one who can help musicians maintain their popularity, the changes that the audience want, they will likely receive. This can also be done through social media, where musicians will post questions for their audience to respond to and give their feedback on. One of the biggest changes in the music industry has been the different ways people have started listening to music. With new platforms, such as YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music, there has been a major decrease in the amount of CD’s and records bought. Not only do musicians need to be changing, but the whole industry needs to change because of the audience. These new platforms and technology change the marketing and distributing of music and in some cases, the way it is produced. Due to the competitive industry, even during a pandemic, musicians still needed to find ways to produce their music and make it available for their audience. For example, Paul McCartney created an album, entitled McCartney III, and produced the entire album on his own during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to provide music for his audience. The music industry and musicians are constantly changing due to the audience behavior and changes that they want made. One of the major factors in the music industry and the changes that are made. They have the power to influence the type of music a musician creates, cause musicians to lose popularity, and change the way different ways music is listened to.
feeling and mood that is intended. Among these are camera shots, sound, mise-en-scène, and editing. These are essential in creating a film and the feeling that the audience gets. The camera shots throughout the extract stays somewhat consistent. It begins with an establishing shot, and the angle remains at the mid-body or slightly higher for most of the video. There are times where it will change to a low angle, like when the two girls are talking, and the guys comes over as well as when the bartender is talking and carrying drinks. When the girls are talking, the low angle allows people to see things from their point of view, and when the bartender is talking with the drinks, it allows the audience to see more of the setting. The movement seems to be mostly tracking as well as dolly. The camera follows along with the girl for a while, with one smooth movement. There are also times where the camera will follow along with cars and other things in the building with the same movement. Because the camera is mostly focused on her, it draws a lot of attention to her and what she is doing. It also helps the audience know who they should be paying attention to when the focus switches from the girl to someone else. During conversations, the camera almost never shows the two people talking in the same shot. It always switches from one person’s close-up to the other during these times. These different techniques used with the camera are beneficial for the audience even though they may never realize how important it is. There are many sounds used to help with the mood and feeling of the extract. For example, there is dark, suspicious music being played when the girl sees a car crash in a game and jumps back. This helps place the idea of her having a bad history with accidents or something that has happened in her past that still bothers her. There is an emphasis on the low sigh that the girl gives, which can help show her feelings at that time, which is most likely annoyed, bothered, or tired. There is a lot of background noise, which helps set the scene. There were a lot of sound effects from games and music, and this shows that it is a popular place for people to hang out. Sound effects from the girl playing the video game while she is talking to the guy suggests that she is still playing the game, even though we can only their faces. The dialogue was interesting in the extract. The girl appeared to be shy and quiet, but once she started talking, it was clear that she was confident. These sounds help draw in the attention of the audience and also add to the overall feel. Mise-en-scène is another aspect that adds to the extract. The setting appears to be in the 1980’s because of the outfits people are wearing, as well as the large amount of neon color. There is an arcade with a lot of people inside, which was a popular hangout place in the 80’s. This helps hint at the time period. There is a difference in clothes that makes the girl stand out more than others. She is wearing clothes that some may think to be nerdy or more reserved, and she has very natural makeup. This is different compared to the other girls because they are wearing clothes that are trendier and have bolder makeup looks and colors. This adds to the idea that the girl is different and is the main focus in the film. The editing does not have as large of an effect on the extract as the other aspects do, but it is still important. There are many long takes of the girl when she is walking. This allows the audience to see her and try to read her facial expressions, but also to see the setting and what is going on around her. As previously stated, there is an eyeline match when the guy comes over while the two girls are talking. This makes it possible for the audience to see what the other characters are seeing. This has a similar affect to the film as camera shots. These different aspects are crucial in making a successful film. They allow the audience to see much more and have a deeper understanding of what is occurring. Without camera shots, sound, mise-en-scène, and editing, films would be nowhere near and dramatic, entertaining, and successful. Magazines and print media are arguably one of the most important types of media there is. There are different types of magazines that apply to everyone of all ages and different interests. They also support and share information on all of the other types of media. For example, Rolling Stone magazine is a magazine that is all about music, which is a different type of media. There are also sports magazines, such as Sports Illustrated, which often provide information on different types of sports teams that are often watched on television. There are also many different purposes to magazines. Depending on the interest of the reader, it may be about traveling, music, sports, fashion, and many other topics. They can be read for entertainment or to inform people about important topics. It is important to market magazines because they cover all different types of media and entertainment.
This video has many different elements that come together to create the overall affect and feeling. The most distinct of these are camera shots, angles, movements, and compositions, sound, mise-en-scene, and editing. These all come together to create an overall feeling of suspense, visuals that foreshadow what may occur in the future, hint at personalities, and help the viewer have a better understanding of the characters and what is happening.
Camera shots, angles, movements, and compositions have a big impact on the video. During most of the time where Elliot is walking, the camera angle is a mid-shot. This allows the viewer to see Elliot and his facial expressions as well as the background. This creates a better understanding of what is happening in the scene, where Elliot is, who is around him, and what is happening in the scene. In the video, either before or right after a conversation is started between Elliot and another person, the camera flashes over to the other person for a close-up. This makes it clearer who the conversation is with and who the viewer should be focusing on. There are also some scenes where there is either a master shot or a two-shot. This is for the viewer to be able to see who else is in the scene. There were multiple voiceovers in the video, and during these the camera would not be focused on Elliot, but on other images of what he is talking about. For example, when he was talking about Steve Jobs, technology, and what he hates about the world and society, the camera was showing images of everything he was describing. This was so the viewer would have a better understanding of what he is talking about. The sound also plays a big role in the mood and feeling in the video. The music that is played in the background creates an overall feeling of suspense and helps set the mood and feeling for the upcoming scenes. There is a hint of foreshadowing in it because the suspenseful music makes the viewers believe that something important is about to happen. There are also voiceovers, and this helps the viewer understand more about the characters and what they are thinking. Another thing that helps people understand more about the characters is there tone of voice when they are speaking. It makes it evident whether they are annoyed, shy, angry, etc. In the very end of the video, the therapists voice echoes and it seems as though Elliot is taken out of his thoughts. This is important because it implies that the scene that had previously occurred was most likely a voiceover. The mise-en-scene also helps set the mood and feeling because of the lighting, setting, and costumes. In the first scene, there is a darker yellow tint when he is in the train. This creates an uncomfortable and dark feeling. The lighting, setting, and facial expression in this scene help show Elliot’s feelings, which is likely something negative because of the feeling expressed this way. Once Elliot is in the office, it is clear that it is a very boring and basic environment. This is because of the lack of interesting details. The office looks like any other regular one. There is also a gray tint in the lighting of the office. This helps emphasize the fact that it is boring and not a place that Elliot wants to be at. The outfits the characters wear can give insight on who they are as a person. For example, the boss is in very formal attire, while Elliot is wearing a nice suit, but has a cheap looking jacket over it. It shows that he does not care about being there as much as the boss or other workers. Almost everyone in the video has shown facial expressions that represent how they are feeling. However, Elliot has almost no expression in most of the video. It shows that he has some issues inside and is hiding them, which adds to the plot and meaning of the video. The editing helps all of the other factors come together and work well. The lighting mixed with the setting helps create the overall feeling and mood. The voiceovers express a lot about the character that we would not have known without them. These mixed with the images of what Elliot is talking about emphasize the importance of it. They also let the viewer know when he is lying to the people he works with. The flashback that Elliot has while talking to his friend at work gives the viewers more information on his character and can also possibly be showing foreshadowing. If it emphasizes on his memory of the night before and what they were both doing, it may mean that it has some importance. In the very last scene in the video where Elliot is talking with his therapist, it becomes evident that everything he was describing may have been in his head the whole time. We know this because of the echoing in the therapist’s voice, Elliot snapping his head back when she talks, and him immediately ceasing his talking when the therapist speaks up. The first image is my revised table of contents, and the second is the original. I did not make many major changes because I was already quite happy with what I had. However, I was not very happy with having so much orange, so I change the page numbers to black. I also changed the title of the page, and I feel that it is more prominent and looks better. I added and switched around some pictures that fit better with what was described on the table of contents. For example, next to the part that discusses the Rocky Mountains, I put a picture of the mountains. I also took away one of the spots with the page number and description on the table of contents because I felt that it was very similar to another one that was already there, and it took up a lot of space. I made some of the text larger, and spread out the page numbers and descriptions a bit more.
